Dr Catherine Cropper MChem PhD MRSC PGCert (pending)

Co-founder, Director and Tutor

Cate is a lecturer at the University of Liverpool, where she is heavily involved in inorganic chemistry teaching and Schools Outreach. She designed and previously delivered Spectroscopy in a Suitcase to schools across the North West; this is an initiative that gives school students the chance to learn about spectroscopy through hands-on experience.  Cate holds a Phd and MChem degree both from the University of Liverpool; her PhD focused on characterisation of intercalated materials using various NMR spectroscopic techniques. Since completing her PhD she has taught chemistry and physics at International colleges in Liverpool and Manchester, and designed a lab course delivered at Manchester Metropolitan University. She was an examiner for NCUK international foundation year programmes.

In 2017 Cate and two of her colleagues won a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence. This award recognises teaching excellence by teams in higher education, and Cate and her colleagues were announced as winners at a ceremony in London.
