The concept of a company specialising in chemistry education came about through Carly being inundated with requests for private tuition in chemistry. Being unable to keep up with demand the idea of small group sessions, where students have selected the sessions they want to attend, seemed the logical next step. Experience subsequently proved that small groups, rather than one on one, is much more productive for students and ChemEducation was born.
Our collective experiences have also told us that many teachers feel unprepared for the demands of teaching A Level chemistry, particularly when their first degree is not largely chemistry based. The ChemEducation founders decided to put together their incredibly extensive chemistry knowledge with their vast education experience, and use it to deliver courses for teachers aimed at giving them the knowledge and confidence to teach chemistry to an outstanding level.
